Although only a minor figure in the post-Babes in Toyland burst of hard-rocking female-oriented alternative pop bands, New Hampshire's Kittywinder had quite a lot of promise that was frustratingly never quite fulfilled. Formed at the University of New Hampshire in Durham in 1992 (originally under the somewhat more eyebrow-raising name of Motorpussy) by singing guitarists Christine Lee and Stephanie Giorgio, plus bassist Laura Cuozzo, the group changed the name and added drummer Michael Hart when they moved to New York City in 1994.
